Recognizing the fact that each individual has his own unique idea of exactly what a particular "technique specific" rod should be like, we were always a little uneasy recommending one particular model over another. It was a lot more comfortable for us if we could give him several choices based on his description of his idea of a perfect rod.
From that concern we decided to find a way for the prospective customer to try several different rods, "hands on".
Now that's pretty easy for us to do if the customer lives in or visits the proximity of East Texas. We simply find a way to get together on the water and start casting. If we happen to be fishing the same tournaments then it's just a matter of meeting up prior to the tournament and working out the details.
We struggled with a good way to do this with fishermen from other parts of the country until we went back and looked at our WARRANTY.
The warranty says: "If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your new rod, we will take it back and you will get a full refund. No questions asked."

Customer contacts us and gets 2 to 4 recommendations from us that we think will satisfy his needs.

Customer pays the full amount for all rods.

We ship the rods to him built to his specifications, complete with his name.

We hold the payment in escrow until customer has completed his testing or until 14 days have passed.

Customer sends back everything he doesn't want.

Upon receipt, we refund customer the amount he is due plus the cost of shipping.
